Brown Butter Miso Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 serving pasta of choice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 1/4 cup miso
  • protein of choice
  • shredded parmesan, if desired


Instructions

  1. Prepare pasta according to package instructions.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, brown your butter in a pan over medium heat. Allow butter to melt and don’t stir it around, allowing the milk solids to turn brown. Once the butter has browned and is smelling fragrant and nutty, add in the diced shallots. They’ll cook quickly and smell very good. Stir around and toss with the brown butter for about a minute. Then, add in the miso and stir everything together.
  3. Lower the heat, and add in the strained, cooked pasta. 
  4. Once all the pasta has been coated in the sauce, it’s ready to serve. Add some protein and/or shredded Parmesan, if desired.
